TyphloGraphic Space Telescope

A TGST is a system that should help some blinds to learn about a starlit sky using their sense of the touch.

The system uses an appropriate hardware and software, the output of which is an optimized low-profile pattern of the night sky that is used to create tactile pictures of various angular magnifications, which can be printed on a special printer – the embosser.

The virtual tactile astronomical telescope is going to be available on the Internet for those interested fromall over the world. Hundred of astronomical observatories, planetariums and other special educational facilities as well as individuals will be able to use the system.

A first revision of the TGST will display some basic objects: stars, constellations, Moon, Sun etc. A further development has been planned that will include more objects like nebulae, galaxies, planets etc.

TyphloGraphic Space Telescope has been programmed in PHP like Joomla! modules. It is expected to make the code available to software designers to be used and modified freely after some time.

TGST is my idea form the year 2007. I have had a pause (a relaxation :-)) in the development of the TGST.
